Barbara and Tori are Gavin's first visitors.
Tori was little afraid to hold him but she did great!

And they changed many poops while they were there.
Olivia meeting her brother for the first time. She had waited so long for this moment she practically popped!
Ava liked Gavin too but wanted him to be put back in the bed. She thought he would come out a 4 year old ready to play with her.

Do we get to keep him?? WooHoo!!!

Gavin's Born

And our family is complete.

Dear Gavin,

You were born this morning at 2:37 AM. I'd like to say that your birth was smooth and uneventful but I think this is a story that we will be talking about for years to come. I think pictures do say more than words so we will start with a few.
This is your first photo. See the look on your face. That's what happens when your mom doesn't get the epidural.
Apparently you weren't so happy with that either.

You wore this sad face for a good ten minutes not wanting to open your eyes and look around. I can't blame you. With all the yelling (yes there was yelling that I'll explain later) you just tried to block everything out.

And then after about ten minutes you decided being on the outside wasn't so bad at all. You were wrapped in a fluffy towel and I held you for an hour while Daddy snapped photos of you. He held you too but he was the main photographer. And then we told the nurses it was time to get you weighed and bathed.

But you were so snugly and had just eaten your first meal so...
You gave us "sad face" and let us know you were happy to be  warm in our arms and that this was the first of a few baths you just weren't going to be happy about.

You were really resistant to the bath. That meant being unwrapped from your nice warm fuzzy blanket... I was sad for you too but Daddy did a good job keeping the water out of your eyes and off your face.

See I put on a brave face for you.
And here are your stats: 9 pounds 8.6 ounces, 21 inches long (two weeks later you measured 22 inches long and 9.14 ounces) with blondish/brown hair and blue eyes. What a whopper!!
And such a beautiful one at that! We love you Gavin. Thank you for being part of our family.
And here's your tiny little foot leaving it's first print on our world.
