Since Olivia had another bowling birthday party on Saturday I found some free tickets for bowling at the same place for Dave and Ava so that they could have fun too. Little did Dave know but Ava would kill him as she scored a 104 her first game while he only scored a mere 102. Must suck to lose to a 3 year old but must feel pretty good to be that 3 year old because Ava has chanted over and over again about how she had beat daddy. And he didn't let her win either.
Olivia, on the other hand, had a fabulous time with her buddies eating pizza and cake and throwing balls down the alley. She could have cared less how well she did. She was just excited to see her friends. Oh to be 5 again without all the worries of adult life. They don't even realize how good they have it.
Today we brought the kids to the zoo. I have a lot of free tickets so we will be attending the zoo numerous times this summer. The kids ran around like the other monkeys that were there. They loved seeing the elephant go pee- strange yes, but to them it was funny. The tiger was out as well as the bears that are never outside nor seen. In the parking lot on the way back to the truck Olivia found a $5 bill and next to it Ava found a dime. Having free tickets and finding money meant that we actually made money by going to the zoo. All in all in was a good day at the zoo. I would post pictures of our outing but I've done that a ton of times already.

Bowling Party
Olivia was invited to a double birthday party yesterday for her best girlfriend and a boy at school. It was the bowling alley. Wow. Talk about a lot of little kids and people. Ava was invited too so it was a family affair.
The party was really well planned and everything was fantastic. The girls all took turns bowling in one lane and the boys in the other and no one argued. To be perfectly honest I was impressed that a group of 4 year olds could get along that well together for 3 hours. Go figure. With the way my two kids go at it at home sometimes... Yeah, I was amazed.
I was also amazed that my kids without naps lasted in such a good space for such a long time. Olivia is beginning to outgrow her naps. She plays quietly in her room while Ava sleeps which is nice but the last week or two Ava has started playing in her room too. So this maybe the end of my two hour break once and for all. The timing is good since Dave is now home every night by 6:30 PM and I can have a few minutes to myself then while he gets their showers and bedtime rituals completed. And since these two lovelies have cut back on the naps their bedtime has been switched from 8 PM to 7 PM on the days they don't nap. This is wonderful.
Last night the girls were in bed at 7 PM. They were both asleep by 7:15 PM. Today Ava woke up at 7:30 AM and Olivia woke up at 10 AM. I'm thinking by summer the naps will be gone, bedtime will be set at 7 PM and the girls can sleep as late as they want. Then when preschool begins again Ava will go at 8:30 again but Olivia won't start until 10:30 AM on MWF (if there's 3 sessions) or the afternoon session if there's 2 sessions. This way the girls only need to get up 2 days a week early and we can relax the rest of the time. I think I'm just not ready to start having the morning routine begin 5 days a week. Once Liv's in Kindergarten there's no stopping it so we might as well give ourselves the luxury of one more year. Man, this school thing starts and all of a sudden it takes over your life.

Thanksgiving Week
How to begin this very long post... Dave's brother, sister-in-law, and their two kids came for Thanksgiving. Along with them they brought a Cajun Turduckhen (a turkey stuffed with a duck stuffed with a chicken and between all the layers was sausage stuffing). Sounds crazy right? Oh but tastes so good. So here's the first morning Wii session before we headed to Union city to do the IFLY. Everyone took their turn. (Michael is wearing yellow, Jacob is wearing white)
Here we have arrived at the IFLY and everyone's waiting for their meeting to begin. I was getting as sick as a dog by this point. Olivia still had her cough/sneezing/ sinus infection and was on day 8 of her antibiotics. Ava was hacking like a smoker and sneezing all over herself. I was wiping my nose every two seconds and getting very light headed, not to mention my watery eyes. So you ask why did I even go... Well someone had to take the pictures.
Here's the gang getting in their flight suits.
Here's Dave and his baby ready to fly.
Scott, Lisha, and Dave prepare for flight.
The kids. Ava still thinks she's involved at this point.
And they are off and in the tunnel.
Look at my man in goggles. Hot stuff!
Here's Michael flying high.
This is Olivia flying away!
And this is Thanksgiving morning or as I like to call it...moments before my death. At this point I could still sit upright. Scott's tickling the kids.
They ganged up on him.
After several hours we dressed the kids. I'm not really sure why. We weren't going anywhere but it was Thanksgiving. I was so sick by this point our relatives and Dave had to cook their own Thanksgiving.
The turduckhen... Umm turkey good. Umm duck good. Umm Chicken good. Suasage stuffing good. Put them all together and we give Thanks!
Here's the kids table.
Friday we went bowling. I was feeling a little better. All the medication I had taken the day before was still in me and I could breathe a bit. Liv was still spraying everyone with her sneezes and Ava- well she coughed and gagged at the same time. Real Fun. But we managed to make it through bowling and had a good time. It was at this time that I just began apologizing for our sickness to the relatives. If they make it through this next week without becoming violently ill, it would be a miracle. Oh and P.S. Olivia can throw her own ball thank you. As she told me, "Mommy, you go sit down over there please."
Here's Michael and Ava bowling.
The boys and their balls (pun intended).
Lisha and Ava saying hi.
Cousin love.
And since the boys had never had a black jack taco from TB we picked up a few on the way back from bowling. They were stoked and the girls even ate a taco too. (They would have never eaten them if it weren't for their cousins. I've tried tacos before. It's always a no go.)
During Ava's nap the kids helped build a gingerbread house.
And when Ava woke up, they ate it.
The next morning Dave's family flew home, we went to a birthday party at Pump it Up, and then we rested the rest of the weekend. The girls are better now. They still have the deep cough, but the sneezing is gone and they look better. I feel better too but now the mucus has decided to unleash itself so I'm full of wonderful phlegm.
Olivia went to her first day of school wearing her glasses today. None of the kids even noticed. Thank God for some miracles.

Bowling For Pizza
Today was super fantastic. We went to Harvest Park Bowl for our neighbor kid's birthday party. It was great. The lanes were paid for for 1 1/2 hours of free bowling. There was pizza and cake and all you could drink soda. Oh it was great. We set the girls up at a table with our other awesome neighbors D&B. We all ate our pizza while taking turns bowling. Olivia rocked! She really rocked!
So the order went like this: first Dave, then Olivia, then me, then neighbor D, then neighbor B. Ok so neighbor B wasn't there for a lot of it so neighbor D bowled for B but it all worked out the same. We bowled for at least an hour, all of which Ava ate pizza, apples, blueberries, and more pizza. Olivia was smashing the ball down the lanes. It was way cool.
Then it was time for the cake and the birthday song. We sang and ate some cupcakes. Ava was covered in food. She's so cool. She's also the most awesomest baby in the whole wide world but you know I'm just the bragging mommy. Olivia was still smashing the ball down the lanes. She too was covered in frosting and didn't even notice or care. The whole way to the bowling alley all she could talk about was how she was going to be eating cake.... and she did just that! I took a bunch of amazing photos that will be posted for Wordless Wednesday.
I can honestly say it was some of the most fun I've had in a long time with my kids. Olivia had an amazing push that knocked down 9 of the 10 pins on average. Ava finished eating and ran out to the lane, did a little flash dance, and push a ball down the lane too. She was so excited and happy to participate. It was cool. Have I stated that too much? If not- it was cooool!
