Dance Performance

The girl's had their dance recital this weekend. They were fantastic. Ava loved the stage. Olivia loved it too and was especially excited when they received flowers afterwards.

After the show we all went to C.E.C for playtime with the other kids. It was a long and fun day with soccer before the recital but it was totally worth it. The kids did amazingly well. Next week we have our finally soccer session and then we will start gymnastics. Olivia is dead set on learning how to do a kart wheel and the last time I tried to show her I felt like I couldn't walk for 2 days. I have learned to leave those things to the professionals.

Look at Ava- the badass!!!

Grandma B

Grandma B came to visit. We went to CL for swimming, on walks, to hip hop class, and B&N for reading. We barbecued, made a pie, ate like we were famished and had a lot of swing time in the back yard.

We can't wait until she comes back again. We miss you Grandma B!

Hip Hop With Ava

This time the girls are in class together...

Ava has all ready learned the moves from when Liv was in class. Finally it is her chance to shine and let me tell you- She Rocks!!!!

Ballerinas at Heart

The girls had their final ballet class. Their teacher brought them tutu's and headbands. All the girls giggled and danced around like the beautiful butterflies they are.

Recital

This is the stage of the theater Olivia had her very first dance performance EVER. I didn't realize it was taking place at an actual theater with the entire audience filled with people. Somehow I was thinking more on the lines of parents and a few extra family members... maybe 30 people maximum. This is where Ava was sitting with Dave 30 minutes before the show started. Not too many people. But then 5 minutes before the show began I turned around and glanced back and saw that the theater was full. I was nervous for Olivia. She could have cared less. Oh to be 4 again and oblivious.
And here she is... ready to begin her first performance ever. I couldn't have been more proud of her. She was so brave and did her dance so well with a smile on her face.
She's waiting for her solo...
It was exciting for her and for us. I asked her how she felt on stage afterwards. She stated very calmly, "I was nervous with all those people out there..."

Uh yeah... I would have freaked out...

I mustered up the courage to say, "So do you want to do this class again?"

"Oh yes, it's so fun!" she cheers.

And so it begins...

Superstar

Last day of hip hop class before the recital this weekend. Olivia struck a pose before class started. These the kids practicing part of their routine.
Olivia and the other girl perform part of the routine together. She jammin'.
And the others join in to finish it off.
Not all the kids were here yet but the parents took a few pictures of the kids posing anyway.
And a special one with their favorite teacher.
Look at the love...
And then they began dancing freestyle to another song which they LOVED.
And then one other girl showed up so it was another photo op for the parents while the kids struck yet another pose.
Another picture with the teacher with the other student added in.
Dance class was a lot of fun for Olivia. I wish now that I would have signed up Ava too. She knows the whole routine just from seeing the kids do it the last 5 minutes of class every week. Next time Ava... it will be your time to shine.

Hip Hop Shake-a-roonie

This was Olivia's first week at her Hip Hop dance class. Check her out groovin' and shakin' her stuff. The last time we signed up for this class I had Olivia really pumped and ready for it. When we showed up it had been cancelled. That was a long car ride home. This time I signed her up and didn't tell her just in case it was cancelled again. When it came time to drive there we jumped in the truck and I told Olivia we had a special outing to attend. I watched her in the backseat watching the road and trying to figure out where we were going. It was awesome when we pulled up. She didn't have any idea where we were. Once I got the affirmative that the class was indeed happening I told Olivia she was there for dance... She was so happy and excited.
Ava thought she was going to dance too but after awhile of watching Olivia she relaxed and danced in her spot all by herself. Next year is her year.

In other school news Olivia created a snow flake in school. They are studying the weather and the letter "P." She has been practicing spelling various words and has mastered, "mommy, daddy, papa, and girl". Everywhere we go now Liv wants to know what the letters are saying or how to spell certain words. She's getting so ready for real school and I'm getting nervous. Things are going to change so much when she is officially in school everyday and we can't just go do whatever we want together during the day. Good thing we have one more year.
